2024 | Senior
Made 10 starts (third-most on team) and three relief appearances in final season. Pitched 51 2/3 innings, third on club.
In conference games, had a 3.30 ERA that ranked 13th in the WAC.
Opened the season with a five-inning start of one-run baseball and a winning decision in GCU's nationally televised blowout of USC on Feb. 17.
Struck out seven batters and earned the win for a six-inning start at UTSA on March 2.
Struck out a career-high 11 batters in a winning decision at Stephen F. Austin on March 9, tied for fifth-most since GCU's return to D-I in 2014.
2023 | Junior
Made 10 starts, third-most on the pitching staff. Appeared twice in relief.
Won the final WAC Pitcher of the Week award of the 2023 season on May 22. His first time winning the award came after helping lead GCU to its third straight WAC title, tossing seven innings of one-run baseball against California Baptist.
Aside from winning the regular-season finale, also recorded wins vs. Long Beach State on April 29 and at Tarleton State on May 7.
Recorded a season-high nine strikeouts in just five innings of work at UNLV on April 4.
2022 | Sophomore
Made 11 starts, fourth-most on the pitching staff. Also appeared eight times in relief.
Ranked fourth among GCU's staff in innings pitched (58).
Started GCU's March 16 win at No. 5 Oregon State. Tossed five innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four. Was GCU's first win over a top-five opponent.
Started the following week in a March 22 win at Arizona State. Allowed three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings and received a no decision.
Got the opening weekend start against Missouri on Feb. 21, tossing five innings of two-run baseball for first career victory. “It’s a dream come true. I’ve wanted to come to Arizona for baseball for as long as I can remember. GCU made that happen. The adrenaline was going, especially in that first inning. Knowing that I have such a good defense behind me helped me settle down.”
Struck out 10, a career and season high, against Seattle U on March 21.

Before College
Grew up in one of the two states that do not offer high school baseball. Was forced to work hard for exposure with legion teams, club teams and showcase events, often with lengthy travel.
Earned AA all-state honors in 2018 and 2019 while also being named the AA Pitcher of the Year in 2018 after posting a 1.01 ERA in 50 innings of work with 60 strikeouts.
Helped lead the Casper Legion baseball team to the state title in 2019.
Was a four-year member of the honor roll.
Personal
Parents are Robert and Sandy Young.
Older brother, Jeremy, was a swimmer for two years at Utah (2016-18).
Outside of baseball, enjoys staying active with golfing, hiking, bowling and biking.
Chose GCU for "the coaching staff, the weather and the campus."
Career goals include playing professional baseball or being a sports agent.
Favorite pro team is the Los Angeles Angels.
Favorite players to watch growing up include Derek Jeter, Gerrit Cole and Michael Phelps.
