HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Grand Canyon women's tennis team wrapped up their stay in Hawaii with a 5-0 loss to Long Beach State on Friday.
With rain delaying the start of doubles, singles were just played with doubles only being played if necessary.
In singles, LBSU jumped out to an early advantage take all six first sets. A 6-3, 6-3 loss by
Ludovica Infantino at No. 4 and a 6-1, 6-1 loss by
Martina Lo Pumo at No. 5 gave the 49ers an early 2-0 lead.
Autum Prudhomme was inserted into the singles lineup at No. 6 for the first time this season and lost in straight sets before the match was clinched at No. 3 with a LBSU's Sadaf Sadeghvaziri winning 6-3, 6-3 over
Jana Weiss.
Natasha Puehse's match was left unfinished in the second set tied at 5-5.
The Lopes will look to regroup from roadtrip at home against Cal Poly on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the GCU Tennis Facility.
