The Grand Canyon women's soccer team will be back at home when it faces Cal State Northridge on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Lopes will honor their lone senior, Andrea Martinez, before the match.
This will be the first meeting between the Lopes and the Matadors at home, with the previous two meetings taking place in Northridge, California.
Sunday's game can be watched on the WAC Digital Network.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- DAY GAME RARITY: The Lopes match against CSUN will be the only day match of the home schedule. GCU already has played five home matches this season. The match against CSUN will be the Lopes' last match at GCU Stadium until they host Kansas City on Oct. 10.

- WAC LEADER: GCU goalkeeper Lauren Garthwaite leads the WAC in goalie minutes with 753 this season. The freshman has impressed in her first collegiate season by also ranking second in the WAC for saves with 40.

- ROAD GAMES LOOMING: After the Lopes face CSUN, the team will hit the road for four of the next six matches. Nonconference play will wrap up on the road next week at Omaha with WAC play starting at New Mexico State on Oct. 4 and at UT Rio Grande Valley on Oct. 6.
SCOUTING
CSUN has played against two Power 5 opponents this season, losing 4-0 to ranked Texas A&M and drew 1-1 against Kansas State. The Matadors will play a third Power 5 opponent when they face Arizona State in Tempe on Friday before coming to GCU on Sunday.
The Matatdors have not played a road match since Sept. 1, compiling a 2-0-2 record in their previous four home matches.
Sophomore Alexis White leads the team in scoring with three goals and six points. Two of her goals were game-winning goals against UNLV and Houston.
Goalkeeper Amanda Delgado has started six of the eight games in goal. The sophomore has allowed five goals with 22 saves and three shutouts.
CSUN is coming off an eighth-place conference finish in 2018, but currently sit top of the Big West this season. The Matadors have the lowest goals against average (0.71) and rank third in points (24) in the Big West.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Lopes drew 1-1 at UC Santa Barbara on the road before falling 2-0 to North Dakota on Sept. 15.
- Freshman forward Sophia Roberts scored her first collegiate goal at UC Santa Barbara.
- The Lopes recorded 26 shots against North Dakota for a season high.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Lopes will hit the road next week at Omaha on Sept. 27. The match will start at 3:30 p.m. (Phoenix time)
