The Grand Canyon baseball team heads onto the road to take on No. 18 TCU in a three-game series from Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Lopes and Horned Frogs meet up again, just over one year after last year's meeting in Phoenix at the debut of GCU Ballpark.
All three games in the series will be streamed on Horned Frog TV.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- OPENING NIGHT ELITE: In his first Division I appearance, junior Kade Mechals shut down Wichita State en route to a Lopes win. Mechals tossed six innings of shutout baseball, allowing just four hits while striking out nine. He was one of 13 pitchers nationally to throw six-plus scoreless innings with nine-plus strikeouts during the opening weekend.
 - A CROWD TO REMEMBER: The debut of Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark Phase II brought with it a program-record crowd of 4,562 fans. The crowd marked the largest opening-day crowd in the state and ninth-largest in the country behind seven SEC schools, one ACC school and Louisiana.
 - PATIENCE AT THE PLATE: The Lopes drew 32 walks over the opening weekend, a mark that was tied for fifth nationally through the season's first four days. Junior Kona Quiggle and sophomore Cuba Bess were one of just three teammate duos to each draw six or more walks.
SCOUTING
The Horned Frogs missed out on the NCAA Tournament in 2018, an aberration for a program that had made four consecutive trips to Omaha and has qualified for the postseason in 13 of the past 15 years. TCU was picked to finish in third in the Big 12 preseason poll, behind Texas Tech and Baylor. The Horned Frogs received one first-place vote.
TCU opened the season in the Valley of the Sun, playing three games at the MLB4 Tournament at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. The Horned Frogs opened with a loss to No. 18 Cal State Fullerton before rebounding to beat Virginia and No. 1 Vanderbilt. The Horned Frogs opened the home schedule with a 12-4 win over Abilene Christian at Lupton Stadium on Wednesday.
GCU and TCU last met when they opened up the 2018 season and debuted GCU Ballpark. The Lopes narrowly missed the opening-night upset but did pick up a win in a 12-inning series finale.

WHAT'S NEXT
- The Lopes return to Phoenix for the first mid-week action of the season, a Tuesday night game against UC Riverside at 6 p.m.
- GCU heads back out onto the road for a three-game series at USC.
