WAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Da'jah Daniel was named to the Preseason All-WAC second team Wednesday as the conference women's basketball preseason poll was released.
New Mexico State (six first-place votes) is the favorite to capture the WAC title, edging out California Baptist (two first-place votes). Kansas City (one first-place vote) was picked to finish third, followed by UT Rio Grande Valley, CSU Bakersfield and Utah Valley. GCU was picked to finish seventh wtih Seattle U and Chicago State rounding out the poll for the nine-team conference. The Lopes landed in eighth in the media poll.

Laura Piera are the returning starters for the Lopes, who have a roster mix of seven letter winners and eight newcomers.
GCU will open the season on Nov. 5, when it hosts Benedictine. Of GCU's 11 nonconference games, seven will be played in GCU Arena.
