SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The GCU track and field team concluded competition at the 39th Annual Aztec Invitational today, hosted by San Diego State. The Lopes broke three school records during the second day of competition.
"I am pleased with our student-athletes performances this weekend," GCU head coach Tom Flood noted. "For a bunch of young men and women at the end of their spring break and they all performed exceptionally well during the couple days in San Deigo."
Three Lopes shattered school records during competition in San Diego. Yarithza Soto would round out the program breaking performances during the long distance events as the true freshman posted a 2:13.30 to rank second in the WAC.

"We will get back to business as usual this next week in practice and look to get even better in our next meet at the University of New Mexico," Flood added.
