PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team takes to the road for the first time this season, as the Lopes (0-2) face Cal Poly (0-1) on Thursday at Noon (MT). Both GCU and the Mustangs are looking for their first win of the season.
Thursday's game will be Kids Day at the Mott Athletics Center in San Luis Obispo, California, and will be broadcast live on BigWest.tv. Live stats will also be available.
Senior guard
Brie Mobley was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after two standout performances versus Rice and #12 Duke over the opening weekend at the GCU Arena. Mobley is averaging 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game through two contests.

Scouting Cal Poly
GCU travels to San Luis Obispo to take on Cal Poly in a Thursday contest at Noon (MT). The Mustangs dropped their season opener to San Francisco, 83-71, on the road.
Last season, the Lopes hosted Cal Poly for a December 10 game at the GCU Arena. Grand Canyon came away with the victory, 64-59, and then-freshman
Vanessa Murphy had a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Last season's matchup was the first between the two programs.
Cal Poly finished the 2016-17 year with an 11-18 overall record and 7-9 in the Big West Conference. The Mustangs competed in the Big West Tournament against Hawaii in the first round, but lost to the Rainbow Wahine, 71-50, to end the campaign.
