SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Senior
Brie Mobley tallied a season-high and game-high 27 points, but the Lopes (0-3, 0-0 WAC) dropped the first road test of the season to the Cal Poly (1-1, 0-0 Big West), 75-69, on Thursday afternoon at the Mott Athletics Center.
GCU shot 95.2 percent from the free throw line, missing just one of 21 attempts on the game. Mobley drained a perfect 7-of-7, while fellow senior
August Touchard made 7-of-8. Touchard finished the game with 18 points, a season-best for the guard.

Vanessa Murphy led the Lopes with eight rebounds on the game, while Mobley was right behind with seven.
The Lopes outscored the Mustangs, 28-27, in the first quarter, but trailed 23-13 in the second to head to the locker room behind Cal Poly, 50-41. Mobley had 16 first-half points while Touchard had 10 first-half points.
Grand Canyon fought back in the final minutes of the fourth to come as close as five points, but time ran out for GCU and the Mustangs closed it out with a six-point advantage.

The Lopes close out the two-game road trip on Sunday at 3 p.m. (MT) at UNLV and look to claim their first victory of the 2017-18 season over the Rebels.
