PHOENIX- The Grand Canyon women's soccer team will conclude its non-conference home slate against CSU Bakersfield on Friday, Sept. 23 and then hit the road to Utah Valley to face the Wolverines on Monday, Sept. 26. Before the Western Athletic Conference season begins, GCU will meet both CSUB and Utah Valley in non-conference matches for the second straight year. Both matches this weekend will not count towards the WAC conference standings.Â
The Lopes will play both opponents in the second of the two meetings during WAC play. GCU will host Utah Valley on Oct. 9 and will conclude its 2016 campaign at CSUB on Oct. 29.Â
GCU Notables
- GCU fell to Oklahoma 3-1 in its only match last weekend at GCU Stadium.
- Milla Benedetti scored the lone goal Sunday. She now has a team-leading four goals on the season.
- Blakely Fraasch had five stops on the weekend.
- The Lopes are now 2-2 at home.Â

Scouting CSUB
- The Roadrunners are 3-6-1 this season. CSUB went 1-1 last weekend. On Friday, they fell to UNLV (3-2) and defeated Idaho (3-2) on Sunday.
- Sabrina Delgado was named WAC Offensive Player of the week for her performance against Idaho. Delgado produced two goals, tying a career high and is tied for first in the WAC with five goals.Â

Scouting Utah Valley
- The Wolverines are currently 5-3-1. Last weekend, Utah Valley ended its contest with Utah in a draw and defeated Idaho State, 5-1 on Sunday.Â
- UVU's GK Brooklyn Nielsen was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against Utah and Idaho State. Nielsen tallied five saves on seven Utah shots and made a key save in the final minute of the contest to send the match into overtime. She also had four stops in the team's 5-1 rout of Idaho State Sunday.
- Utah Valley currently boasts a 13-match unbeaten home streak.
- The Wolverines have picked up road wins against Texas and Oklahoma this season.Â
CSUB Series History NotablesÂ
- The Lopes will meet CSUB for the 19th time in program history. The Roadrunners lead the all-time series at 5-11-3.
- The two teams met twice last season and both matches ended in draws.
- In the 2015 season finale, the contest ended in a 0-0 tie. Blakely Fraasch registered seven saves, including a key save in the 99th minute to send the match into double OT.
- In the team's first meeting of 2015, the match also ended in a 1-1 draw. Deseree Doty netted the lone goal in the second period. Fraasch tallied eight saves.Â
Utah Valley Series History NotablesÂ
- The Lopes will meet Utah Valley for the seventh time in program history. The Wolverines lead the all-time series at 2-4-0.
- Through two meetings last season, the Lopes went 1-1 against Utah Valley.
- The Lopes shutout the Wolverines in conference play in a 1-0 decision after Madison Cox scored the game winning goal in the first half.
