Amer Sasivarevic, has been named to the Preseason All-WAC Team. Out of the 11 teams in the WAC, GCU has been picked to finish sixth in the conference.
After seven wins last season in head coach
Schellas Hyndman's first season at GCU, coach has continued to shape his roster by bringing in 11 new players. Hyndman's squad also returns eight starters including returning goal scorer,
Niki Jackson.
Sasivarevic started in 15 matches last season as an outside-back and was a part of a backline that recorded two shutouts throughout the season. The native of Munich, Germany has four career assists at GCU and has played in 47 career matches.
Taking first in the preseason polls is the defending champions, Seattle U, after receiving nine of the 11 first-place votes. Utah Valley comes in second-place with two first-place votes.
Lopes fans will have a chance to see its soccer team nine times this season at home in the brand new GCU Stadium. The Lopes first match will be at home on Aug. 26th against Central Florida.
