Live StatsLive Video PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's soccer team will continue its Western Athletic Conference road trip to open conference play with a trip to Texas and New Mexico. The Antelopes will travel to Texas Rio Grande Valley for the first time in school history and to wrap up the trip the Lopes face New Mexico State.
Grand Canyon has now scored 15 goals this season, a six-goal improvement from last season after 10 games. With Deseree Doty scoring her first career goal at GCU, the Lopes have now had 10 different players score this season, led by Milla Benedetti with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. Doty's goal was the 10
th goal GCU has scored in the second half this season and now the Lopes will look to pick up their first win of the season on the road.
All-Time SeriesThis will be just the second time GCU has faced Texas Rio Grande Valley after defeating the Vaqueros 4-1 last season in Phoenix. The Antelopes are a perfect 3-0-0 all-time against New Mexico State.

Scouting Texas Rio Grande ValleyThe Vaqueros have played six matches at home this season going 2-2-2. Out of the 10 goals this season, eight different players have scored for UTRGV led by Andreya Barrera and Elisa Espino with two goals each. Espino leads the Vaqueros with seven points adding three assists. Texas Rio Grande Valley has found a balance scoring attack throughout the match scoring five goals in the first half and four in the second half. Half of the Vaqueros matches this season have gone to overtime, posting a 2-1-2 record. UTRGV will look to snap a four-match winless streak against Grand Canyon with their last win was on Sept. 12 against South Dakota in overtime.
Scouting New Mexico StateThe Aggies are coming off their second win of the season against Texas Rio Grande Valley on Sept. 27 at home defeating the Vaqueros 2-1. Despite scoring 11 goals in 10 games, the New Mexico State defense has been vulnerable, giving up 27 goals this season. During non-conference, New Mexico State played Weber State, who GCU also faced, and suffered a 3-1 loss at home to the Wildcats. NMSU has split time between Ashley Martin and Rian Nials in goal with Martin receiving more playing time. Martin averages giving up three goals per contest and a saving percentage of 66. The Aggies are led by Aileen Galicia with four goals and an assist for nine points.
