PHOENIX – After coming off its first road win in the conference this season, the Grand Canyon men's soccer team will close out the 2015 season at home against UNLV. Before Saturday night's match against the Rebels, the Antelopes will, honor its seven seniors: Alberto Sanchez Garcia, Bojan Jovanovic, Jesus Leyva, Luca Licciardi, Tafadzwa Semwayo, Ricardo Tavarez and Amare Thomas.

The Lopes are coming off a win at Missouri-Kansas City, snapping a six match losing streak in the WAC. The offense has picked up of late for the Lopes over the past four matches, scoring seven goals in the last four times GCU has stepped onto the pitch. Five goals this past weekend against Air Force and UMKC was the most goals scored by GCU in a two-match weekend all season. Head coach Schellas Hyndman has been able to put players in a position this season in order to produce more goals and the players have seen the effect. In 2014, GCU had scored 19 goals all season and with one match left this year the Lopes have tallied 25 goals, which is sixth best in the WAC. Niki Jackson is coming off his best weekend of the season, after being named WAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his carrer. Jackson scored four of the five goals last weekend against the Falcons and Kangaroos and has now scored nine goals this season, tied for best on the team along with Garcia.

All-Time Series RecordGrand Canyon will face UNLV for the fifth time in school history. Last year, the Lopes battled the Rebels in Las Vegas, Nev. in a 2-1 defeat.

Scouting UNLVThe Rebels are one of four teams in the WAC with a 4-4-1 record in conference. UNLV is currently in a tie for fourth place along with Houston Baptist, Air Force and San Jose State. The Lopes will have to deal with Danny Musovski, the leading goal scorer this season in the Western Athletic Conference, scoring 12 goals along with four assists for a league-high 28 points. Ten different players have scored for UNLV this season for a total of 32 goals, tied for third most goals in the WAC. The Rebels have played four different goalkeepers this season, but Richard Garness has spent most of the time in goal for UNLV posting a 1.33 goals against average with three shutouts. Â Â Â Â Â
