- The first home match of the season begins Friday evening under the lights of GCU Stadium as the Lopes host UC Riverside at 7 p.m.

- The home match is the first of five straight in Phoenix after beginning the 2026 campaign with back-to-back road contests in northern California.Â
- GCU is 1-1 and coming off a road victory at Sacramento State. The Lopes shutout the Hornets (1-0) and limited them to seven shots after a 21 shot performance vs. UC Davis.
- Thirteen Lopes have recorded a shot so far this season with eight tallying a shot on goal. GCU leads 10-7 in shots on goal against opposition so far this season and is second in the MW with 13.0 shots per game.
- Head Coach Jamie Davies earned his first victory at the helm of the GCU men's soccer program Sunday at Sacramento State.
- The Lopes hold a 54-24-8 record at GCU Stadium since it opened in 2016. Twenty-nine of those victories have come over the past five seasons, including nine in 2025.Â
- Freshman forward Godson Anim scored his first collegiate goal in Sunday's 1-0 win at Sacramento State. Anim is one of three freshmen who have tallied a point so far in 2026, joining João Gonçalinho and Alhassan Alhassan, who have an assist and a goal to their name, respectively.Â
- Fifth year Beltran Fernandez has five saves through two matches. Fernandez made three saves at No. 9 Stanford and had back-to-back stops in a minute span against Sacramento State. GCU is one of two teams (Air Force) to post a winning shutout this season in the MW.Â
- GCU and the Highlanders meet for the first time since 2019 and first time in Phoenix since 2017. The Lopes hold a 1-0-1 advantage in the series as both games ended in overtime or double overtime prior to the rule change.Â
LAST TIME OUT
- GCU went wire to wire with No. 9 Stanford on Thursday evening in the season opener.Â
- After a 0-0 first half, both teams combined for three goals in a 26-minute span to open up the second half. The Cardinal prevailed 2-1.Â
