BELMONT, Calif. -- Grand Canyon just experienced its first taste of lacrosse at its finest. Sheldon
The Antelopes left for the Bay Area Friday, knowing the tall order that awaited them. First up was a date with No. 5 nationally-ranked Molloy on Saturday.
It is one the Lopes would rather forget after losing, 26-4, on a neutral field.
Grand Canyon fell to 1-8. Molloy moved to 3-0 after defeating No. 12 Notre Dame de Namur by a goal a day earlier. GCU will meet NDNU (4-1) on Sunday to complete the two-game San Francisco area trip.
GCU's Bryce Sheldon scored a goal, had seven ground balls and won 12 of 26 faceoffs. But it was little consolation for a team averaging 8.83 goals per game. By the time the first period ended, Grand Canyon found itself trailing, 9-0.
