LA JOLLA, Calif. -- No. 12 Grand Canyon lost 157-120 to No. 7 Incarnate Word and 229-54 to No. 19 and meet host UC San Diego Sunday.
GCU will meet Incarnate Word again next month at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in Arvada, Colo.
The 'Lopes had two second-place finishes Sunday. Senior Alexis Glessner (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/N. Colorado) was runner-up in the 1000 Freestyle (11:01.15).
Sophomore Caitilin Hoffman (pictured, Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert) was second in the 200 Backstroke (2:14.40).
GCU's final home meet at Brophy Sports Complex is 1:30 p.m. Jan. 30 against Biola. The RMAC Championships are Feb. 11-13.
