Yes, this lacrosse thing is better on a campus still new to the idea of sticks, nets and helmets. Grand Canyon has improved, but that still doesn't settle the sting of Sunday's 15-5 loss to Whittier College in the season opener at GCU Lacrosse Stadium.
"I thought they gave a good, physical effort," Grand Canyon coach Adam Marshall said. "I was happy with just seeing that we have the talent. Man for man, I thought we had pretty good talent."
Newcomers like Jacob Hippensteel (pictured) and Scott Franks made the biggest impact outside of Patrick Murphy, Grand Canyon's leading scorer from a year ago.
