Adrianna Candelaria joined the GCU Athletics staff in August of 2022 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
She served as the primary contact for women’s volleyball, beach volleyball, and softball, where she promoted three conference championship titles, and covered four NCAA Tournament appearances before taking over as the primary contact for track and field, cross country, swim and dive, men's tennis and women' tennis in June of 2024.
Candelaria got her start as an athletic communications intern at Northern Arizona before earning a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in advertising.
After graduating in 2020, Candelaria served as a graduate assistant in sports information at NAU, where she primarily worked with men and women’s track and field and cross country, NAU’s most successful and most followed teams on social media.
In her three years with the program, Candelaria handled all communication and publicity efforts for the 2020 and 2021 men’s cross country national championship title teams, promoted 10 total Big Sky Championship team titles across men and women’s cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, and highlighted 25 All-Americans; the men’s track and field team also podiumed for the first time in NAU history at the 2022 NCAA indoor championship, scoring the most points in school history to date (29) with just three distance runners.
The Phoenix native also promoted seven athletes on the world stage between the U.S. Olympic Trials, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 2021 and 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships and the 2022 World Athletics Championships Oregon.
Candelaria graduated from Northern Arizona in 2022 with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
