Grand Canyon opens the Mountain West Volleyball Championship Wednesday in Las Vegas against the fourth-seed Boise State Broncos in the quarterfinal round at 2 p.m. Phoenix time from The Pavilion.

- The Lopes took the opening set off of the Broncos before Boise responded win sets two, three and four.
- The Lopes nearly grabbed a 2–0 lead, surging ahead 20–15 in the second set and holding set points at 26–25 and 27–26 before Boise State swung the match with a 29–27 win and carried that momentum into 25–17 and 25–15 decisions.
- Bella Nunez recorded her second career triple-double (11 kills, 15 assists, 22 digs) while GCU out-blocked the Broncos 17–13 and held them to .190 hitting; Ramirez added nine kills and eight digs.
PLAYOFF SCENARIOS
- The winner of Wednesday's match will face the first seed, Utah State, on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. PT/ 2:00 p.m. MT.
