Metz enters her second season with the Grand Canyon University strength and conditioning program. She also served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program at GCU for two seasons.
Metz was the strength and conditioning coach for the women's basketball and volleyball teams at Northwest Nazarene University before coming to GCU. She also worked with several boys high school teams in Idaho and coached a 5-6th grade girls AAU basketball team.
Metz has her bachelor's degree in psychology and is currently working towards her master's degree in psychology. She is NASM certified and is also working towards her CES this summer.
Metz played professionally in Nitra, Slovakia and then in Honduras in the Central American Championships. She also played in the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League for USA Elite, a team based in Greensboro, N.C.
Metz graduated from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Wash. As a freshman at BBCC in 2004, she led the NWACC in three-point shooting percentage at 52 percent and was named First-Team All-NWAACC. Metz moved onto Northwest Nazarene, where she was selected Second-Team All-GNAC during her senior season. She was selected to the GNAC All-Academic teams during her junior and senior years. Metz continues to hold the NNU single-season free-throw percentage record at 89 percent.
Metz, a native of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, earned her degree in psychology in 2006 from Northwest Nazarene. She is a personal trainer and has worked with young athletes on their strength, agility, skills and conditioning.
