Vince Mosca is in his first year assisting with the Grand Canyon track and field programs and joins the coaching staff after standout prep, collegiate, and professional careers. Mosca will be working with the Antelope throwers this spring.
Mosca, a Phoenix native, was a state champion in the discus throw at Paradise Valley High School in 1998 and also was the Great Southwest Champion in the same event. He spent a year as a redshirt at the University of Colorado under head coach Janet Visosky before transferring back to the Valley to attend and compete at Arizona State. In 2001, Mosca placed 12th at the Pac-10 Outdoor Championships in the shot put (52-10). He continued to be one of the top throwers for the Sun Devils during his time wearing the maroon and gold.
Upon graduation, Mosca went on to compete professionally, garnering three top-15 finishes at the USATF Championships. He placed sixth at the indoor championships in 2006, 14th at outdoor championships in 2005, and 11th at outdoor championships in 2006.
Mosca graduated from ASU with a degree in Political Science and resides in Phoenix with his wife Holly. The couple enjoys spending time with their son, Lane.
