At Grand Canyon Medina took control of the pitching staff in 36 games, including 32 starts, during her freshman campaign in 2015. She threw out a team-high seven would-be base stealers while helping the staff to a 4.79 ERA.
Offensively, Medina showed some pop to her bat, posting a .329 batting average and .647 slugging percentage with nine doubles and six home runs. She scored 17 runs and drove in 26, including a career-best four RBI in a road win against UMKC, part of six multiple RBI games. She finished the season by hitting safely in 12 of the last 14 games, powering in six doubles and a home run in the final eight games of the year.Â
At Basha High School
Medina posted a career batting average of .345, amassing 115 hits, 81 runs and 88 RBI at Basha. She knocked around 29 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs while being a four-time letterwinner. She was named an NCA All-American scholar four times during prep career. Medina was named All-CUSD first team in 2014 and was a second-team pick in 2013. She was also a member of the 2011 and 2012 teams that finished second at the 5A-1 state championships.
