Grand Canyon and Nevada go head-to-head in a battle between the top two teams in the Mountain West.

GCU is unanimously ranked in the Top 25 across major softball polls. (22 in ESPN/USA Softball, 24 in Softball America, 17 in NFCA, & 21 in D1Softball.) They have the best record and winning percentage in the nation.
The Lopes hold a three-game lead on the entire Mountain West, with this weekend's opponent Nevada next closest at 6-3.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Abi Jones took home MW Freshman of the Week for week 8 after earning two wins in relief at Utah State, striking out seven batters with a 1.83 ERA.
Graduate left fielder Trinity Martin is riding a hot streak at the plate over the last two weeks of conference play, hitting six home runs and driving in 15 runs. Martin began the San José State series 7/7 with 4 HR. She had a six-RBI game in game two at Utah State.
Senior center fielder Sydney McCray has the most stolen bases in the nation without being caught (22/22).

This will be the 5th-7th matchups between GCU and Nevada, with the all-time record in favor of the Lopes at 4-0. Grand Canyon has won all of these games at home.
The Wolf Pack are 24-12 (6-3 MW) on the season as they enter week four of conference play. Nevada is second place in the Mountain West, trailing the Lopes by three games coming into the series.
Nevada is hitting .339 with a team ERA of 3.54.
Wolf Pack infielder Madison Clark is hitting .515 with 22 stolen bases, a home run and five triples.

at UTAH STATE

GCU swept Utah State on the road last weekend, moving to 36-2 on the season after dropping a ranked-road matchup at Arizona.
In game one of the Utah State series, GCU scored ten runs on ten hits in the seventh inning. They had not accomplished such a feat since 2016.
Grand Canyon did not walk a single batter in the entire Utah State series.

WHAT'S NEXT?

GCU hits the road for a doubleheader at Fresno State (4/8), before returning home for a two-game conference set that weekend against Boise State (4/10-11).
