GCU is unanimously ranked in the Top 25 across major softball polls. (22 in ESPN/USA Softball, 24 in Softball America, 17 in NFCA, & 21 in D1Softball.) They have the best record and winning percentage in the nation.
The Lopes hold a three-game lead on the entire Mountain West, with this weekend's opponent Nevada next closest at 6-3.
Graduate left fielder Trinity Martin is riding a hot streak at the plate over the last two weeks of conference play, hitting six home runs and driving in 15 runs. Martin began the San José State series 7/7 with 4 HR. She had a six-RBI game in game two at Utah State.
Senior center fielder Sydney McCray has the most stolen bases in the nation without being caught (22/22).
GCU swept Utah State on the road last weekend, moving to 36-2 on the season after dropping a ranked-road matchup at Arizona.
In game one of the Utah State series, GCU scored ten runs on ten hits in the seventh inning. They had not accomplished such a feat since 2016.
Grand Canyon did not walk a single batter in the entire Utah State series.
GCU hits the road for a doubleheader at Fresno State (4/8), before returning home for a two-game conference set that weekend against Boise State (4/10-11).
