Of the Lopes' 61 games, started 58 and appeared in 60.
Homered 11 times, second-most on the team only behind WAC Player of the Year Tyler Wilson.
Ranked in the WAC's top 10 in sacrifice flies (six, tied for second), walks drawn (41, third), RBIs (50, tied for eighth) and runs (49, tied for 10th).
Had 21 multi-hit games including six three-hit games.
Had an impressive showing in the Tucson Regional, going 8 for 19 (.421) with four runs scored and five RBIs, highlighted by a three-hit game in the season finale against West Virginia on June 2.
Finished with eight home runs, the No. 2 mark (Jon Hamel hit nine in 1996) by a Lopes freshman in the Division I era.
Drew 46 walks, the No. 3 mark in a Lopes D-I season.
Named the WAC Hitter of the Week on May 8 following a weekend series at Tarleton State where he collected seven hits, 10 RBIs, four runs, two doubles and a home run.

Eighth and final home run of his freshman season was a grand slam at Tarleton State on May 6 as part of a season-best six-RBI day. It was the Lopes' fifth and final grand slam of 2023.

Personal
Parents are David Specht and Robyn Yorke.
Father, David, was a swimmer at Air Force from 1979 to 1983.
Mother, Robyn, played softball at Fresno State from 1994 to 1998 and is considered one of the best players in program history. She was a four-time All-American and helped the Bulldogs win the 1998 national championship. Helped teach her sons hitting.
Aunt, Christa, also played softball at Fresno State from 1991 to 1994.
Oldest brother, Joe, also played baseball at Archbishop Mitty HS and graduated in 2019. He spent the 2020 season with the Boise State program. Transferred to Cal Poly after Boise State cut the program and played four seasons with the Mustangs ending in 2024.
Older brother, Nick, also played baseball at Archbishop Mitty HS and graduated in 2020. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 17th overall pick. Made his MLB Debut on Sept. 16, 2024, with the Pittsburgh Pirates with Zach in attendance.
Cites his older brothers as the greatest influence on his baseball career.
Chose GCU, in part, due to former Lope Jaxson Wall, his best friend.
