Parents are Brandon and Sara Lyon.
Father, Brandon, played 12 MLB seasons for the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Tigers, Astros and Mets. Amassed over 680 career innings and posted a 42-47 record with a 4.16 ERA. Finished 50 games in 2008 to rank eighth in the National League. Was a 14th rounder by Toronto in 1999. An alum of Utah Tech, has his No. 9 jersey retired by the program.
Older brother, Isaac, made 42 appearances and amassed over 180 innings in a three-year playing career at GCU. Was a 10th-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in the 2025 MLB Draft before being traded to the Washington Nationals in Dec. 2025.
Off the field, enjoys playing golf, basketball and video games.
Chose GCU "because of the coaches and the history of the program always being great. Also would be a good experience for me moving to a big city."
Favorite pro sports team is the Vegas Golden Knights.
