- Helped lead Snow Canyon to a state title as a junior in 2024 and won state playoff MVP. Was the winning pitcher in the championship game, tossing six innings of two-run baseball with five strikeouts.
- Was an all-state pitcher, going 6-2 with a 2.61 ERA as a junior in 2024.
- Struck out 120 batters over 100 innings in his varsity career.
- Played club for Utah Marshalls.

- Parents are Brandon and Sara Lyon.
- Father, Brandon, played 12 MLB seasons for the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Tigers, Astros and Mets. Amassed over 680 career innings and posted a 42-47 record with a 4.16 ERA. Finished 50 games in 2008 to rank eighth in the National League. Was a 14th rounder by Toronto in 1999. An alum of Utah Tech, has his No. 9 jersey retired by the program.
- Older brother, Isaac, made 42 appearances and amassed over 180 innings in a three-year playing career at GCU. Was a 10th-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in the 2025 MLB Draft before being traded to the Washington Nationals in Dec. 2025.
- Off the field, enjoys playing golf, basketball and video games.
- Chose GCU "because of the coaches and the history of the program always being great. Also would be a good experience for me moving to a big city."
- Favorite pro sports team is the Vegas Golden Knights.
- Three athletes he enjoyed watching growing up included Brandon Lyon, Carlos Gonzalez and LeBron James.
