GCU continues to roll passed opponents after having a successful weekend, defeating New Mexico State on Friday 6-1 and Wichita State today 4-0.

After a tight victory last year against the Aggies, the squad secured a decisive victory under head coach
Ross Wilson.
In doubles on court 2 freshman
Tristan Berard and sophomore
Andreas Loizas defeated Holland Snell and Lance Urlaub 6-2. While on court 1 senior
Brice Patoux and sophomore
Daniel Jankoski won 6-3 securing the doubles victory.
"It was so important for us to start out winning the doubles point. We were able to capture the momentum and keep winning" said coach Wilson.
Over in singles
Charlie Pade, the freshman from Australia, made his Lopes debut. The freshman did not skip a beat securing his match on court 6 by winning 6-2 in both sets.
On court 5 Patoux showed his singles dominance defeating Thomas Duforets 6-2, 6-1. Berard kept his undefeated singles streak alive on court 2 defeating Holland Snell from the Aggies 6-2, 6-4.
After his comeback victories in the home opener against Idaho, sophomore
Diordan Macababbad defeated Laurendi Fischer 6-3, 6-2. This point eventually secured the match for the Lopes as Aggies Lance Urlaub was forced to retire.
" I really liked our willingness to play with consistency every point in singles and play with a high level of focus and intensity" said coach Wilson after his third win for the Lopes.

GCU Defeats Wichita State 4-0
The Lopes pulled away to victory in an intense match with an experienced Wichita State team.
In the first doubles match Patoux and Jankoski, the duo who went on to the finals in the Mountain West Fall Qualifier, defeated Alejandro Jacome and Ilias Worthington in a close match 7-5. On court 2 Loizas and Berard battled back down 3-1 to eventually come out with the 7-5 victory.
"The doubles point was key in a great win today." Said coach Wilson
The young Lopes team continued to show how impressive they have been despite only having one upperclassman.
Over in singles Berard and Macababbad dominated. Berard defeated Alejandro Jacome in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. And Macababbad took care of court 4 winning the match 6-2, 6-0.
With a chance to clinch on court 5 Lopes Patoux and Shockers Pablo Alcaya had a tense match, but ultimately resulted in a GCU win 6-2, 6-1. This secured the match as they move on to 4-0.
The Lopes have a couple day break before they play UTSA at home on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
