Grand Canyon fell to 31st-ranked Arizona in Tucson on Sunday afternoon.
GCU came into the match shorthanded with just six available players on the roster for the match.
The Lopes only won one set throughout the dual match, and it came from their No. 2 doubles pair of
Bella Crossman and
Dania Deaifi. They moved to 3-0 on the year as a duo. Courts 1 and 3 went to the Wildcats, giving Arizona the doubles point.
In singles, the match was called after Arizona took the first four courts, all in straight sets. GCU freshman
Peyton Duckett, on Court 6, and Crossman, on Court 4, were the first two courts to fall. Lopes sophomore
Gala Arangio dropped the clincher on Court 2. Deaifi managed a second-set lead on Court 3 before the match went unfinished.
Grand Canyon (8-6) will head north with a match at Northern Arizona on Thursday at 10 a.m. The match was canceled last week and rescheduled for the Lopes' off-week.
