Ghana native will begin collegiate career in August
Grand Canyon head oach George Kiefer and the men's soccer team announced the signing of Ghana midfielderΒ Abdulai Abdul-Malik.Β
The central midfielder from the north region of Tamale, Ghana, will enter GCU as a freshman for the upcoming fall season.Β
Abdul-MalikΒ won multiple awards throughout his youth career, including Player of the Month at Field Masters five times over the past two years. He also won Midfielder of the Year during the 2023 season.Β
Abdul-MalikΒ has helped his club team to winning the Annual Chief Imam Tournament trophy in 2023, finsihingΒ runner-up at the Patrick Boamah Youth Empowerment Tournament in 2024Β and claimingΒ the Third Division League GARFA with Field Masters in 2022.Β
Abdul-MalikΒ is GCU's eighth signeeΒ since the winterΒ and will be the sixth freshman to join the Lopes for next season.
