Grand Canyon split a pair of matches in their second road trip to California in the last month.
GCU loses 4-3 to Fresno State
Doubles were looking promising for the Lopes on Saturday at Fresno State, as sophomore
Gala Arangio and freshman
Karina Hofbauer dominated Court 1, winning 6-1. After a Court 3 loss, junior
Dania Deaifi and senior
Valentina Del Marco were in a tight Court 2 match before Fresno State's Yinglak Jittakoat and Paulina Montiel clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win.
Fresno State took three of the first four courts to win the match, with the Lopes eventually grabbing the final two points after the dual was clinched.
Deaifi won 6-4, 6-2 on Court 3 while Hofbauer, Arangio and freshman
Peyton Duckett fell in straight sets. GCU freshmen
Bella Crossman finished her three-set match with another win, taking the third set 6-1. Lopes freshman
Angelina Mihajlovic won via 10-point tiebreaker, 11-9.
GCU defeats Pacific 7-0
GCU earned its first sweep of the season on Sunday , with an all-around dominant performance.
The Lopes took each singles match in straight sets, just dropping one doubles set on the day.
Hofbauer and Arangio moved to 2-0 on the weekend as a pairing with a 6-3 victory on Court 1. Deaifi and Del Marco redeemed themselves a day after a doubles loss with a 6-3 win of their own on Court 2 to clinch the doubles point.

- Valentina Del Marco (GCU) def. Maggie Hoe (PAC), 6-4, 6-2
The Lopes moved to 4-4 with the win and will head back to California next weekend for two more matches.
GCU will face Gonzaga and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo on Saturday (2/22) and Sunday (2/23), respectively.
