Lopes set to host UT Arlington in conference home opener

The reigning WAC Tournament champions begin their search for the 2024 WAC regular season title Thursday.

GCU ranks 25th in the nation in blocks per set with 2.69, and first in the WAC in total blocks with 118.5.
Senior middle blocker Trista Strasser enters the regular season 18th in the country with 60 total blocks.
Freshman setter Taylor Kubacak ranks third in the WAC with 340 assists on the season.

The most recent GCU vs.UT Arlington matchup took place on Nov. 11, 2023 when the Lopes swept on Senior Day.
GCU last played Seattle U on Oct. 21, 2023 with a 3-1 victory off 17 Tatum Parrott kills, eight Ashley Lifgren kills and a five-kill, five-block performance from Strasser.
Lifgren is coming off a 22-kill weekend (3.67 kills/set) with .361 hitting to earn The Big West/WAC Challenge Tournament MVP.
