The Olympic Games mark Puerto Rico's second in its women's basketball history and second straight Olympics after qualifying for the first time in Tokyo in 2021 (played in 2021 due to COVID-19). The senior national team has seen successful in recent years, qualifying for the World Championships in Spain in 2018 and Australia in 2022. The team hosted and won the silver medal at the 2021 FIBA Americas Championship. It also won bronze medals in the event in 1995 and 2017.

San Antonio played five games for Puerto Rico's senior squad during the summer of 2022, totaling 45 points, 16 rebounds and five assists while shooting 47% from the field. She scored 19 points and added three steals and four rebounds against China while tallying 16 points, two rebounds and two steals vs. Canada in September of that year.
After helping GCU to a 24-8 record last season, San Antonio was Puerto Rico's leading scorer off the bench in an exhibition game this summer against reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas, scoring 10 points in 15 minutes.
