Coming off three straight top-5 finishes, the Grand Canyon men's golf team heads to Eugene, Oregon, to partake in the Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club.
The two-day tournament, hosted by the University of Oregon, includes 15 teams, six of which are ranked in the Scoreboard Clippd Top-50. Among the teams competing including Oklahoma State, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon State, and Utah. The Lopes enter the week ranked 63rd in the country.
The Eugene Country Club is a par-71, 6,995-yard course with a slope of 135. Monday's first and second rounds begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. followed by Tuesday's third and final round at 8:30 a.m.
GCU will field the same starting five that took second at the GCU Invitational including seniors
Nicky Kling,
Matthew Pennington,
Tommaso Zorzetto and
Craig Passmore along with freshman
Gavin O'Neill.
The Lopes have tallied three top-five finishes this spring season, including two second place showings. In total between the fall and spring seasons, GCU has five top-five placements and four top-three showings with three tournaments left before the WAC Championship in Payson, Arizona, April 26-28.
Participating teams include Boise State, Colorado State, Illinois, Oklahoma State, San Jose State, Cal Poly, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, UTEP, Colorado, Northwestern, Oregon State, Utah and Grand Canyon.
