The Lopes were able to swing momentum into their favor with a hard-fought win by Strombacha at court two. The GCU senior had to go to a tiebreaker in both sets and prevailed 7-6, 7-6.

Up 3-1 the Lopes needed just one more win with three matches still in progress. That win came at court five with Krokhotina prevailing in three sets 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. GCU freshman
Iva Sepa and Puehse had their matches left unfinished at courts four and one in the third set.
