GCU faces Abilene Christian at home before WAC Tournament

Grand Canyon hosts Abilene Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday with the Wildcats visiting Global Credit Union Arena in GCU's final WAC match of the regular season.

THINGS TO KNOW

GCU junior outside hitter Tatum Parrott earned WAC Player of the Week after tallying 35 kills (5.0 kills/set), a .348 hitting percentage, 11 digs, four total blocks and three service aces in seven sets. .
The Lopes clinched the second seed in the WAC Toournament.
To secure a WAC Tournament berth, Abilene Christian must win at least one of its two matches this week or have Tarleton State lose one of its two matches.

LAST TIME OUT

The Lopes swept Abilene Christian on the road behind Parrott's 14 kills on a hitting clip of .303.
Strasser had five kills with seven of GCU's 20 total blocks.
GCU is 4-0 against the Wildcats in Phoenix, winning 12 of 13 sets.

SCOUTING

Abilene Christian has won one of its last nine matches.
In the last two matches, Wildcats 6-foot-2 middle blocker Hannah Gonzales has 25 skills with eight total blocks.
Thursday will mark the second road match of the Wildcats' last seven matches, with the most recent being a loss at UT Arlington.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The three-day, eight-team WAC Tournament begins on Nov. 21 in Arlington, Texas.
