Two-day dual meet to be held at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex

Grand Canyon Lopes	at	Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors

The Lopes headed to Honolulu Thursday to face the Rainbow Warriors Friday and Saturday in the first true dual meet of the season.

THINGS TO KNOW

The Grand Canyon swimming team had a strong day at the second-ever Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Open Water Championships, where the Lopes' women placed first out of 11 teams with the GCU men taking second out of seven.
This will be the first time the Lopes swim at Hawai'i and against the Rainbow Warriors.
Paula Martinez Moreno won the season's first women's WAC swimmer of the week award on Oct. 9.

SCOUTING

Catherin Belyakov had a strong debut for Hawai'i winning the 100 backstroke and swimming top-10 school times in the 200 and 400 IM events. Belyakov's strong performance earned her Big West Athlete of the Week honors.

WHAT'S NEXT?

GCU will host a meet for the first time Nov. 1-2 when Arizona Christian, Ottawa (Ariz.), Simon Fraser (B.C.) and Idaho head to Phoenix.
