The Grand Canyon women's soccer team were well represented in the weekly Western Athletic Conference awards on Tuesday.

Fresh off a pair of shutouts redshirt junior
Sidney Roberts was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week while junior
DeAira Jackson was also named WAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Roberts anchored the GCU defensive back line and partnered with Jackson in goal as the Lopes picked up a 2-0 win and 1-0 win over UTSA and Oregon at GCU Stadium last week.

Roberts logged all 180 minutes and only allowed 18 shots in both wins last week. The GCU captain has now led the Lopes to four shutouts in the last five games. Through the first five games the Lopes are tied for the conference lead with just three goals allowed.

Behind Roberts, Jackson had another stellar week with six more saves to increase her conference leading save percentage to .880. The GCU junior faced 18 shots in both wins and now ranks second in the nation with four shutouts. Jackson also leads the WAC with a 0.50 goals against average.

The Lopes will hit the road this week and face South Dakota State and North Dakota on Sept. 7 and 10.
