The Grand Canyon men's golf team continues its historic season Monday morning when it competes in the first round of the three-day NCAA Regional tournament at the Institute Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California.

The Lopes will field the starting five of seniors
Matthew Braley and
Parker Reddig, juniors

Nicky Kling and sophomore
Sam Murphy, who won the WAC Championship for the first time in program history in Boulder Creek, Nevada, on April 30. Those five players shot a collective 34 under par to tie the WAC Championship record for lowest team score over a 54-hole tournament. GCU earned the NCAA regional qualification by winning the WAC Championship.

The Institute Golf Club is located approximately 30 minutes southeast of San Jose, where the tournament will be hosted by San Jose State and San Jose State Authority. Built in 2002, the course's length is driver friendly at 7,952 yards, the longest course from the championship tees in California.Â

Pepperdine earned the Morgan Hill Regional's No. 1 seed with a ranking of sixth in the country. GCU earned the No. 12 seed among 13 teams in the region, with Florida State (2), Mississippi State (3), Arizona (4) and Louisville rounding out the top five. The Lopes head into the regional round ranked No. 111 via Golfstat.
