ABILENE, Texas – The Grand Canyon women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend road trip with a 6-1 win at Abilene Christian on Saturday.
The Lopes (11-9, 5-3 WAC) were in control from the start, taking the doubles point with wins at the top two courts before winning five of six singles matches on this home stretch of the regular season.

Santa Strombacha improved to 6-1 in WAC play with a 6-3 win at the No. 1 court. The point was clinched for the Lopes with a 6-4 win by graduate

Anali Kocevar at Court 2, improving to 5-1 in conference play. Abilene Christian (9-12, 3-4 WAC) won at Court 3 to wrap up doubles play.
Singles was all Lopes early, as freshman Dani Deaifi at Court 3 and Puehse at Court 1 dropped just three combined games in 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-1 respective wins to push GCU's lead to 3-0.
The clinching win came at Court 5 by Lamoreaux, who won 6-4, 6-2 to improve to 15-4 in singles play with a 6-0 record in WAC play.
With the dual-match win in hand with a 4-0 lead, the Lopes ended the day with two more wins on the final three singles courts. Strombacha won in straight sets at Court 2 while Kocevar defeated ACU's Maria Cascos 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4.

Hebe Toyos was unable to prevail in a third-set tiebreaker, falling 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-5.
The Lopes will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a trip to New Mexico State on April 16.
