The Grand Canyon men's golf team embarks on its spring season at the Ocean Course Hokuala in Lihue, Kaua'i, Hawaii, to compete in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate from Thursday to Saturday.
Â
The Lopes begin a slate of five scheduled spring tournaments that lead up to the WAC Championship on April 28-30 in Boulder City, Nevada. The John A. Burns Intercollegiate tournament has been a staple for the Lopes in recent years, as this season marks the sixth time since the 2016-17 season that they will compete in the Hawaii event.
Â
GCU competed five times in the fall, earning three top-five finishes and notching a team tournament victory at the Visit Stockton Invitational on Oct. 22 in Stockton, California. The Lopes recorded four straight top-10 team finishes to open the season.
Â
The Lopes join a John A. Burns Intercollegiate field of 21 teams, the most in a field for any GCU tournament so far this season. Among the list of teams competing are No. 10 Texas A&M, No. 19 Arizona and No. 20 San Diego State. The field consists of six Power 5 programs with GCU being the only WAC participant.
