The Grand Canyon men's golf team, fresh off its first-place outing at the Visit Stockton Invitational two weeks ago, concludes the fall campaign with the three-day Kapolei Classic in O'ahu, Hawaii.
Tournament play will start Tuesday at the Kapolei Golf Club. The par-72 course is 7,001 yards long and is about 30 minutes west of the capital city of Honolulu.
Nineteen teams are competing in the event, including host school Hawaii and WAC members California Baptist and Utah Valley. GCU will also compete against familiar teams in Mississippi State and BYU, both of whom finished first and second, respectively, in the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional last May, when GCU made its first-ever NCAA regional appearance.
GCU will field seniors
Tommaso Zorzetto,
Nicky Kling and
Matthew Pennington, sophomore
Antonio Bulgheroni and freshman
Gavin O'Neill. The Lopes have finished in the top three twice this season, most recently winning the team title in the Visit Stockton Invitational in Stockton, California, on Oct. 18. GCU will look to win its second fall event of the season, a feat that has not been done since the 2017 fall campaign.
Tee times begin at 11 a.m. (Phoenix time) each morning. Live stats of the event can be found
