After a successful first season as an Grand Canyon tennis assistant coach,
Tatum Prudhomme was named the winner of United States Tennis Professional Association's Southwest Elevate Award.
Â
The award recognizes USPTA pros with five years or less as a member for exemplifying and emphasizing individual achievement, sportsmanship and the ability to coach and teach

tennis at a high level.
Â
"I am very honored to have been nominated and voted by members of the USPTA for this award," Prudhomme said. "It motivates me to continue to work hard."
Â
Prudhomme moved up the coaching ladder quickly at GCU after playing on the tennis team from 2014-17. As a player, Prudhomme was part of two WAC regular-season titles while compiling six All-WAC awards. In her career, Tatum finished with 43 singles wins and 45 doubles wins, ranking in the GCU Division I-era's top three for both categories.
Â
Prudhomme then moved into coaching as a graduate assistant for the women's team in 2018 and 2019. In those two seasons, the Lopes captured a WAC title in 2019 and advanced to two straight WAC Tournament finals. In 2020 as a volunteer assistant, Prudhomme helped guide the women's team to WAC regular-season and tournament titles and the program's first NCAA tournament appearance in the D-I era.
Â
In the summer of 2021, Prudhomme joined the staff full-time as an assistant coach and kept her successful ways, leading GCU this spring to its third WAC regular-season crown in the past four seasons.
