Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark will feature a new amenity beginning with this weekend's series between Grand Canyon and Sacramento State.
A 612-square foot video display measuring 34 feet wide and 18 feel tall will be in use for the first time on Friday night. The display will present a variety of new game experience opportunities, improving value for GCU sponsors and creating an even more fan-friendly atmosphere.
In its first weekend of use, the video board will feature home and away headshots, an intro video, sponsorship logos, player statistics and other accompanying elements. Planned future additions include pitch speed, replay and more.
Brazell Field's traditional inning-by-inning scoreboard will remain in the left-center field wall and continue to provide the basics of the game including the count and the score, allowing for the video board to be used for other elements. The traditional scoreboard in left-center is scheduled to be replaced for next season.
The Lopes close the season with seven of their final 10 games at GCU Ballpark. First pitch for Friday and Saturday's games has been moved to 6:30 p.m., with Sunday's series finale staying at noon. GCU closes out the home schedule with a Tuesday matchup against Arizona State and a three-game series against Seattle U on May 19-21.
