The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to Tacoma, Washington, for its final tournament before it heads to the WAC Championship on April 18-20 in Kerrville, Texas. GCU will take on the Chamber's Bay Invitational at the Chamber's Bay Golf Course. The two-day tournament will begin with two rounds on Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and conclude with a final round on Tuesday.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- FINAL TOURNAMENT: The Lopes will use this tournament as a tune-up before heading to the WAC Championship next week.
- TRAVELING FIVE: The Lopes will travel three seniors in Payton Fehringer, Alexis Linam, and Siripatsorn Patchana. Sophomores Carly Strole and Constanza Guerrero round out the five-person team. Â
- TWO WAC SCHOOLS: The Lopes will get to compete against WAC programs Seattle U and New Mexico State before they reconvene in Texas for the WAC Championship. Â
CHAMBER'S BAY INVITATIONAL
The tournament field includes co-hosts Seattle U and Washington, along with BYU, Boise State, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga, Idaho, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, San Francisco, SMU, UCLA and Wyoming. The tournament consists of 54 holes with 36 on Monday and the final round of 18 on Tuesday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (Phoenix time). The Chamber's Bay Golf Course is a par 72 with 6,046 total yards.

LAST TIME OUTÂ
GCU tied for fourth place, just one stroke behind WAC opponent California Baptist and three off second-place Long Beach State at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Arizona.

Linam made large strides in Tuesday's final round of play, as she moved up 15 places and was the Lopes' top scorer at 3 over par to tie for sixth. Linam improved each round at Southern Dunes Golf Club, finishing her final round at 1 under par.

Patchana also moved up after her final round at the Cowgirl Classic. Patchana finished the tournament tied for 13th after shooting her second-best round at even for the day. She finished the tournament 4 over par.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lopes will head to the WAC Championship in Kerrville, Texas, at the Riverhill Golf Course for a three-day competition, beginning on Monday, April 18, and concluding on Wednesday, April 20.
