SEATTLE — The Grand Canyon women's golf team closed out regular-season play at the Chamber's Bay Invitational on Tuesday by finishing 10th in the 18-team tournament.
Seniors
Siripatsorn Patchana and
Alexis Linam were the Lopes' top scorers. Patchana tied for 24th place after scoring 5 over par in her final round at Chamber's Bay Golf Course in Seattle. Linam slipped to a 31st-place tie after recording 2-over-par and 4-over-par rounds for the first two rounds of the three-round tournament.
Spain native
Constanza Guerrero, a GCU sophomore, progressively improved throughout the invitational as she produced her best round of play in the final round, scoring 4 over par. Lopes senior
Payton Fehringer also improved from her first to final round at Chamber's Bay, where she shot 6 over par in her final round. Sophomore
Carly Strole scored her best round in her opening round and then struggled in the following two at the Chamber's Bay Invitational.
The Lopes are back in action on Monday for the opening round of the three-day WAC Championship in Kerrville, Texas, at the Riverhill Golf Course.
