LAS VEGAS — The Grand Canyon women's golf team headed to Las Vegas for The Show, hosted by nationally ranked UNLV and Furman. GCU struggled in Monday's opening round at Spanish Trail Country Club but improved in the second round. The Lopes battled the wind in the final round on Tuesday but managed to move up three spots.
Sophomore
Carly Strole was the Lopes top scorer, jumping 13 spots to finish tied for 41st after scoring 11 over par in the tournament. In her final round, Strole shot 5 over par. GCU senior
Siripatsorn Patchana struggled in her final round, falling seven spots to tie with Strole at 41st.

Payton Fehringer dropped one spot to 58th after shooting 8 over par in her final round. Spain native
Constanza Guerrero jumped five spots after finishing 17 over par at The Show.
Arizona native Alexi Linam jumped 12 spots after having her second-best round, shooting 6 over par in her final round and ending at 19 over par.
Lopes struggle in Day 1 of The Show
Patchana was the team's best scorer through two rounds of play. Patchana shot 1 over par in her opening round and 2 over in her second round, putting her in a tie for 34th at 3 over with five birdies in the 36-hole day.
Arizona native, Strole managed to improve immensely from her opening round to the second round, moving up 16 spots to a tie for 54th at 6 over par. The GCU sophomore was 6 over in her opening round and made some adjustments to score an even-par 72 in her second round of the day.
Fehringer also improved form her first round, rising 18 spots in the second round to a tie for 57th. The Idaho native followed an opening-round 79 with an even-par 72 in the second round. Guerrero was the opposite, as her opening round she was 2 over and she ended the day 9 over par. Linam ended the day with a 13-over-par score and improved from her opening round.
GCU improved its team play with only seven of the tournament's 15 teams posting a better second round but was unable to make up ground out of 15th place. The tournament concludes with a final round on Tuesday.
