Fresh off a stellar weekend, Grand Canyon women's soccer forward
Gianna Gourley was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday.
Â

The junior earned the award after collecting three goals and three assists, part of the Lopes' offensive showcase at home over the weekend against Abilene Christian and Tarleton. Gourley's 11 goals and 26 points both rank in the top 10 nationally.
Â
Gourley got the scoring started early on Friday against ACU with a goal just 75 seconds into the match. That early goal was the table setter for the rest of the weekend, as the GCU team captain assisted on two more goals in the first half and the Lopes defeated the Wildcats 4-2.
Â
Against Tarleton on Sunday in a 6-1 win, Gourley again scored the opening goal, this time in the 15th minute after a great run and pass by fellow junior forward
Lindsey Prokop. Just nine minutes later, the Las Vegas native had her third goal of the weekend and later on assisted on a goal by sophomore midfielder
Brenna Alderson in the 72nd minute.
Â
Along with Gourley, the GCU offense as a whole had a great weekend, scoring 10 goals and 33 points while putting 51% of their shots on goal.
Â
The Lopes will take their three-game winning streak on the road this weekend with matches at Utah Tech and Southern Utah on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
