The weekly WAC awards keep coming in for the Grand Canyon women's soccer team as junior forward
Gianna Gourley was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Â
It is the fourth WAC award the Lopes have taken home this fall with
Hannah Edwards,
Camryn Larson and
Lindsey Prokop being previously honored.
Â
Gourley led the GCU offense in a 5-1 win over Dixie State, recording her first career hat trick in just under four minutes in the second half. The Iowa transfer scored goals in the 77th, 79th and 81st minutes against the Trailblazers to solidify the GCU win.
Â
The Lopes have been the top offensive team in the WAC all season, leading the conference with 28 goals to also rank in the top 30 nationally. Individually, Gourley and Prokop are tied for the WAC lead with five goals each while senior midfielder
Marleen Schimmer is also tied for the points lead with 14.
Â
The Lopes will be back in action this weekend at home against Seattle U and California Baptist on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
