The Grand Canyon women's basketball team extended its winning streak to eight with a 63-60 victory against Seattle U on Thursday night in GCU Arena.
The Lopes (15-8, 10-2 WAC) remain in first place in the conference after leading a tight game for nearly 34 of the 40 minutes. Seattle (12-13, 6-6) took a 50-49 lead with 6:04 to go and tied the score at 52-52 wtih 2:48 remaining but the Lopes answered with a clutch 7-0 run over the next 92 seconds of play.

Tavia Rowell put the Lopes ahead 59-52 with 1:16 remaining by getting a fastbreak layup off of her steal.
The Lopes came up with a pair of defensive stops and made throws down the stretch to seal the win and end the Redhawks' five-game winning streak.
Holland led GCU in points (23), steals (six) and assists (four) while adding six rebounds. The reigning WAC Player of the Week made 9 of 17 shots from the field and is now averaging 22.3 points over the past four games.
Rowell added 11 points, her highest total since Jan. 25, by making 5 of 11 shots in her 23 minutes of action.

Da'jah Daniel just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Seattle was led by Kamira Sanders with 23 points and six assists while Hailey Vice-Neat added 19 points.
GCU held a 38-24 advantage in point in the paint.
The Lopes are back in action at 2 p.m. Saturday when they host Utah Valley for Senior Day and their GCU Arena season finale
