FINAL RESULTS
CHANDLER, Ariz.  – The Grand Canyon men's golf team finished the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in third place on Tuesday at Whirlwind Golf Club.
The 20-team event was won by UCLA (841, 23 under par), followed by CSU Fullerton (848), GCU (850), Wyoming (854) and Santa Clara (856).
GCU was led by junior
Jake Chanen, who tied for third place. Chanen fired three consecutive sub-par rounds to finish with a 207 (9 under par), which was four strokes out of first place. He finished the tournament with a team-high 14 birdies, including a streak of 35 holes without a bogey.
Lopes senior
Filip Lundell finished tied for 14th place with a 211 total. Junior
Trevor Lampson (218) and junior
Michael Salazar (218) tied for 43rd place. Freshman
Matthew Braley (224) finished in a tie for 77th place.
GCU had a pair of individuals playing as freshman
Nick Hedman finished with a 221 and sophomore
Adam Veenstra carded a 224.
The Lopes are back in action later this week when they head to their final regular-season tournament, the El Macero (Calif.) Classic from Friday to Sunday.
