El-Midany, Schwob, named Student-Athletes of the Month

Grand Canyon student-athletes have their sights set on more than just winning on the competition field. With the help of the Academic and Student-Athlete Development staff, the Lopes are looking to provide leadership in the classroom and the community in addition to their roles on their respective teams.

| In the community El-Midany had the opportunity to volunteer with her teammates at the St Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix. |
In the community Schwob has participated in Feed My Starving Children and is a regular participant in L.O.P.E.S. For Life events such as their networking night and etiquette dinners. |
| In the pool In her last season with GCU, El-Midany scored points for the Lopes at WAC Championships in Houston, placing 10th in the 1-meter dive, eighth in the 3-meter dive and 11th in the platform dive. At the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, El-Midany placed 18th in the 3-meter dive final, being the only diver from the WAC to make the finals. |
On the court Schwob is a senior captain for the men's volleyball team, helping them to fourth-straight wins over ranked opponents during the month of March. the senior from Maryland recorded 15 blocks during the four-match win streak and has a total of 57.0 total blocks thus far, ranking second on the team. Schwob ranks third on the team in kills with 165. |
