The Lopes for Life program is dedicated to the holistic development of each GCU student-athlete. Lopes for Life provides comprehensive programming that focuses on academic achievement, career readiness, personal development, and community engagement while integrating spiritual growth. In alignment with the 5 C’s, Community, Collaboration, Continuous Improvement, Christian Leadership, and Championships, Lopes for Life strives to equip each student-athlete with the knowledge, experiences, and skills they need to succeed while at GCU and in life after college.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Through workshops focused on time management, goal setting, and self-awareness, student-athletes will develop the skills necessary to help them be successful in the classroom and in all areas of their lives.
CAREER READINESS
From the moment they get on campus, student-athletes will start developing their professional skill set by engaging in hands-on experiences through workshops, networking, and career fairs, GCU student-athletes will be prepared to meet their postgraduate career goals. Â
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Personal Development pillar provides leadership training, financial literacy, name, image, and likeness (NIL) education, college transition resources, and mental health and wellness education. These programs and opportunities aim to create well-rounded student-athletes, support them in all aspects of life, and help them reach their full potential.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
In alignment with the university’s mission, GCU student-athletes, coaches, and staff are committed to serving the Phoenix community. Through service opportunities such as food and clothing drives, engagement with local elementary/middle schools, visits with nearby children’s hospitals, rebuilding homes, and many others student-athletes give back to the community and serve as ambassadors for GCU.
